Horse and Volunteer Spotlight – Carrie and Little Bit

Heart of the Barn and Star of the Stable; Carie & Little BitCarie

Carie has been volunteering at Ivey for 15 years and has donated 3,620 hours of her time since 2014. Carie enjoys working with the horses and therapeutic riding participants, and loves seeing their progress. Carie is also our “Creative Director” and decorates the ranch and the horses for special events. Carie shared that Ivey Ranch is her “happy place,” and that the horses, people, and our mission keep her coming back each week. She takes great care of our horses and is looking forward to continuing to learn in her own riding lessons and volunteering for many years to come! You can catch Carie with her main mare, Little Bit, during Grooming Gang.

Little Bit

Little Bit had her 20th birthday this year! She is a sweet and sensitive girl, always wanting to know what’s going on. Little Bit excels at teaching new riders the ropes during summer camps, birthday parties, and Scout events. She also enjoys modeling new outfits, sunbathing in the arena with Jaacy, and hanging out with her roommate, Armani.

Each month, we celebrate one of our Ranch Stars, a volunteer who goes above and beyond to make Ivey Ranch shine. Their time, care, and dedication help our programs thrive and keep our community strong. We’re always looking for more Ranch Stars to join our team. If you have been thinking about volunteering, this is your sign to get involved. You could be featured in next month’s newsletter! Click below to learn more and sign up to volunteer.
