You can catch Ann over on the North Side, dutifully volunteering Tuesdays and Thursdays during Grooming Gang. A volunteer since 2021, Ann has spent 650 hours taking care of our horses. She loves the relationships she’s able to build with the horses and appreciates the therapeutic quality of interacting with the horses in any way. She loves all the horses in the North barn and has a soft spot for Island and Big Boy in particular. Ann doesn’t want to leave anyone out, though, and makes a point to visit Teddy in “the Hideout” every time she’s here. Being around horses might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but it sure is Ann’s!
Sasha
She is a 20-year-old Belgian Draft and Thoroughbred cross. She joined our program in 2014 and has spent the last decade working in our able-bodied and therapeutic lessons, participating in summer camps, demonstrations, and just about every horse show we’ve hosted or been to! Her size may be intimidating at first, but she has amassed a large following of fans because of her smooth gaits and agreeable nature when ridden.
