What is Tailored Day Service?
Tailored Day Service (TDS) is 1:1 support for customized learning opportunities designed especially for adults with special needs. TDS aligns with our mission to provide enriching programs that promote integration, inclusion, and interaction between all people.

Benefits of TDS
Tailored to meet the needs of participants, this program aims to maximize growth, independence, and a positive experience. The experience gained is intended to prepare participants for opportunities beyond the Ivey Ranch community.
Onsite participants have the opportunity to gain experience in the following areas:
Exposure to and Assisting with Horses
- Grooming and tacking
- Assisting with horseback riding lessons
Barn and Grounds Maintenance
- Barn chores (stall cleaning, feeding, watering)
- Painting and small repairs
- Using basic tools and outdoor equipment
Gardening
- Maintaining upkeep of gardens
- Following a watering schedule
- Planting
Staff Support Skills
- Time management
- Attention to detail
- Following instructions
- Communication
Basic Computer and Office Skills
- Typing
- Laminating
- Labeling and organizing
Time Keeping, Attendance, and Punctuality
Offsite participants have support with:
Post-Secondary Education

The Work Participants Will Do
Ivey Ranch offers a variety of equine assisted learning and therapy programs in order to meet the complex needs of its diverse community. Onsite participants will feel good about being a part of the meaningful work Ivey Ranch does. Offsite participants will feel good about being part of the broader community they live in.












Eligibility
- Adults ages 18+.
- Participants should be able to listen and follow directions, appropriately functioning in a social setting. Participants should be able to handle their own self-care and administer their own medications.
- Participants with a history of aggression, violent, or self-injurious behaviors are subject to further review.
Get Started in the Tailored Day Service
Ivey Ranch can provide TDS to those who have contractual services through a Regional Center (such as the San Diego Regional Center) as well as to those who choose to pay privately.
