Riding, vaulting, horse care, and more — one unforgettable week at a time.
Ivey Ranch Summer Horse Camp gives children and young adults ages 7–17 the chance to connect with horses in a hands-on, immersive environment. Each week-long session is inclusive, welcoming campers with and without disabilities. Enrollment is limited to 18 campers per session — spots fill fast.
What Campers Do
Every session follows a rotating curriculum designed to build confidence, empathy, and horsemanship skills. Campers rotate through four core activities each morning:
Horseback Riding
Mounted instruction tailored to each camper’s age and ability level.
Vaulting Instruction
Balance, core strength, and trust-building through gymnastics on horseback.
Ground Training
Learning to safely lead and handle horses — the foundation of all horsemanship.
Humane Education
Equine anatomy, nutrition, feeding, grooming, and basic veterinary care.

Frequently Asked Questions
Not at all. Camp is designed for all skill levels, from first-timers to more experienced riders. Campers are grouped by age and ability so everyone feels confident and appropriately challenged.
Vaulting is gymnastics performed on a moving horse. It builds balance, core strength, and trust between the camper and the horse in a safe, controlled setting. It’s one of the highlights of the week for most campers.
Yes. Inclusion is central to the Ivey Ranch mission. We welcome campers with and without disabilities. If your child has a diagnosis or specific needs, please have your doctor complete a Physician’s Consent form before registration. We will then schedule a brief evaluation lesson to make sure camp is the right environment for your child.
Camper and horse safety comes first. The ranch has shaded areas and cooling stations throughout. If temperatures reach extreme levels, we shift activities to focus on indoor equine science and shaded ground-based care.
Enrollment is first-come, first-served. A spot is held only when both registration paperwork and payment are received. Your online registration confirmation serves as your receipt.
Yes. A welcome email with all logistics — drop-off, pick-up, and show information — will be sent the week before your child’s session begins.
Campers focus best and bond more deeply with the horses when working independently with our instructors. Parents are invited to join us on the final day of each session for a short showcase of what the campers have learned.
