In-Home Care Provider
Work in the home of families with children with special needs in north San Diego County (Oceanside, Carlsbad, Vista, San Marcos). Applicant must be able to assist in lifting/wheelchair transfers, and willing to feed, diaper, and change those who need assistance.
Requirements:
- Applicant must have care experience and references.
- Applicant must obtain, or currently hold, certification in First Aid and CPR.
- Applicant must live in north San Diego County and have transportation to arrive at various locations.
- LiveScan background check is required.
Availability: Multiple contracts available; 15-120 hours a month, flexible scheduling.

Volunteer Coordinator and Event Assistant
We are seeking a part-time Volunteer Coordinator and Event Assistant to serve as a second support employee within Ivey Ranch Park’s volunteer programs and events. They will increase the number of volunteers who serve at events that support children, youth and families. They will facilitate service projects for individuals and groups.
The Volunteer Coordinator and Event Assistant’s primary activities and responsibilities will include:
- Support planning, day-of logistics, and follow-up for on-site and off-site events.
- On-site duties include:
- Formalize new community partnerships to recruit new volunteers and/or set up volunteer projects for groups.
- Maintain regular communication with existing and inactive community partners to increase the number of volunteers and improve volunteer retention.
- Host monthly outdoor volunteer service projects for groups and serve side-by-side with volunteers to provide guidance and to improve the volunteer experience and retention.
- Support our annual fundraiser by connecting with community partners to recruit volunteers.
- Assist with set up, execution, and clean up for events including tour group luncheons, fundraisers, recognition events etc.
- Off-site duties include:
- Serve a primary concert lead for a group of volunteers from Ivey Ranch that are serving as cashiers and bartenders in a beer tent at an outdoor music venue in Chula Vista.
- Report inventory of canned alcohol, water, sodas etc. to venue staff.
- Hosting a table at local community resource fairs and college fairs to share information about Ivey Ranch’s services and volunteer opportunities.
- Track volunteer program and infrastructure development.
- Track goal attainment and report on annual measurement of volunteer impact.

Requirements:
- Be at least 21 years of age
- Be able to stand for long periods of time, work outside, be around loud music, and be comfortable serving alcohol.
- Must be willing to work indoors and outdoors to best serve the organization.
- Have reliable transportation to commute to occasional off-site events. Mileage reimbursement available for off-site events.
- Currently hold or obtain certification in First Aid and CPR within 2 months.
- Complete LiveScan Fingerprinting (including FBI/DOJ).
- Must complete Mandated Reporter, Sexual Harassment, Concussion Protocol trainings.
Availability:
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule during the week, weekends, and late nights. Shifts range from 4 hours when on-site, and up to 10 hours when off-site.
- Must be available on the following dates approximately 2pm-midnight for off-site events:
- 3/14, Sun. 5/17, Fri. 6/12, Fri. 7/10, Sat. 7/11, Fri. 7/17, Tues. 8/11, Wed. 8/12, Tues. 8/18, Tues. 9/15, Fri. 9/18, Fri. 10/9, Sat. 10/10.
- An additional 10-15 dates may be added through October.
- Approximately 10 hours per week to start. Hours will increase to 20-25 hours per week or more as additional opportunities arise.
Pay Rate/Status: $22 per hour / Part-time
Life Skills Coach
Ivey Ranch Park is looking for a Life Skills Coach for our Working Intern Program, a program for teens and young adults with special needs and disabilities that focuses on community inclusion, independent living, recreation, and self-advocacy. The individual will provide supervision and direct services to individuals either 1:1 or in small groups of 2-4 participants. The individual will promote both personal and practical skill development through customized learning.
The Life Skills Coach will assist participants with special needs:
- Achieve their individual goals (may be related to social skills, pursuing post-secondary education, seeking volunteer or employment opportunities etc.)
- Increase their independence.
- Gain active-learning work experience that provides knowledge and progression.
- Have an understanding of expectations, routines, and relationships.
- Have a respect for learning and responsibility.
Primary activities and responsibilities will include:
- Develop/expand the Working Intern Program.
- Train San Diego Regional Center (SDRC) participants with special needs as volunteers for programs that support children, youth, and families.
- Serve side-by-side with participants, in an outdoor setting, to provide guidance and to improve their retention and success.
Skills:

Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Minimum of 6 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination with special needs and experience working with adults in vocational, educational, employment, or volunteer settings.
- Must be willing to work indoors and outdoors to best serve the participants.
- Have reliable transportation to commute between sites where participants are being served.
- Currently hold or obtain certification in First Aid and CPR within 2 months.
- Complete LiveScan Fingerprinting (including FBI/DOJ).
- Must complete Mandated Reporter, Sexual Harassment, Concussion Protocol trainings.
- Be willing to do 8+ hours of continuing education per year including attending monthly onsite workshops to advance their skills.
Availability:
- Must be available Thursdays 1:30-4:30pm and 2 other week days.
- Must be available to work a flexible schedule (occasional evening or weekend may be required).
- 10-15 hours per week to start. Hours will increase as additional participants are added to the program.
Pay Rate/Status: $20 per hour / Part-time
