School-Age Program (SAP)
Volunteers engage with School-Age Program participants with activities that include games, art, reading, dancing, outdoor play and more. Participants are children with special needs ages 5-22. Availability is Monday-Friday 7-8:30am and 1-6:30pm during the school year or Monday-Friday 7am-6:30pm during school breaks.
Adult Day Program (ADP)
Volunteers assist Adult Day Program participants with daily activities with a focus on social skills, independent living skills, time and time management, fitness, science, vocational development, language and literacy, grocery shopping, meal preparation, transportation and street safety, and community outings. Participants are adults with special needs ages 18-58. Availability is Monday-Friday from 10am-3pm.
Requirements for Care Program Volunteers
Our ADP and SAP are state licensed and our Care Program volunteers must meet the following requirements:
- Ages 18+
- Submit a Care Program Volunteer Application
- Submit a health clearance form
- Submit the results of a current Tuberculosis (TB) test (must be within the last year)
- Provide proof of TDAP and MMR vaccinations
- Complete a LiveScan background check (including FBI/DOJ) at the Oceanside Police Department. The cost is approximately $100.
