In November 2024, Ivey Ranch board member Luis Rodriguez and his dog, Luna, were killed in a car accident. Nearly two years later, we still feel his absence around the ranch.
Remembering Luis
Luis was a hands-on board member. He was at the ranch every week, keeping an eye on the projects we were planning and building. His heart, though, was with the horses. Every Wednesday, he arrived with a 25-pound bag of carrots for them, and the horses came to expect it.
What the Carrot Fund Supports
To honor Luis, we created the Carrot Fund.
- Right now: the fund keeps his tradition going by delivering that weekly carrot treat to our horses.
- As the fund grows: we plan to put it toward the kinds of projects Luis cared about, including a covered arena and, eventually, a facility expansion.
