Enrollment

Prospective Participants:

Anyone interested in joining Ivey Ranch Park Association’s (IRPA) Adult Day Program can either contact their regional center service coordinator or email IRPA’s Care Programs Manager Christina@iveyranch.com. Interested persons need to complete a questionnaire and return it to the Care Programs Manager. Once the completed questionnaire is returned, the Care Programs Manager or ADP Lead Teacher will contact you with more information and to schedule a tour. Once a tour date and time has been established, prospective participants and/or their authorized representative should reach out to their regional center service coordinator to inform them of the tour. The regional center Service Coordinator must send the prospective participant’s collateral to IRPA’s Care Programs Manager at Christina@iveyranch.com.

Entrance Criteria:

Participants must be able to administer their own medications (please see Self-Administration Guide for further information). Participants must be able to participate in Functional Skills Training. Participants must be willing to listen and follow directions given to them by staff and volunteers. Participants must be willing to participate in daily activities. Participants must be able to be in a group setting with a staffing ratio of 1:4. IRPA’s Adult Day Program cannot accommodate participants who require 1:1 staffing due to behaviors. Participants with a history of aggression, violent, or self-injurious behaviors are subject to further review. The program cannot accept participants who currently display these behaviors. IRPA’s Adult Day Program accepts participants who rely on others to perform Activities of Daily Living (ADL).

Those who may not be eligible for enrollment:

  • Ivey Ranch DOES NOT have a licensed professional on staff to provide care to those who have/use: Diabetes; Enemas, or Suppositories; Inhalation-Assistive Devices; Urinary Catheter, etc.
  • Individuals who cannot self-administer medications as needed while on-site.Participants whose needs cannot be met.
  • Conditions or behaviors that are likely to cause physical or mental harm to self or others.

Payment for Program:

Program hours can be paid for privately, by a participant’s regional center, or by Financial Management Services (FMS).

Part-time Enrollment:

Participants may be enrolled part-time and set which days they would like to attend. However, participants need to be in the program on their scheduled days from 10am-3pm.

Enrolling:

Once a prospective participant has toured, an enrollment packet must be submitted to Ivey’s Care Programs Manager, and regional center hours must be approved prior to starting.

All participants will have a trial period of two weeks. The trial period ensures that we are a good fit for participants, and that participants are a good fit for our program.

Transportation:

ADP does NOT offer transportation to and from the program.

After-care Hours:

After care hours are available Monday-Friday from 3pm-6pm. After program hours can be paid for privately, by utilizing regional-center’s out-of-home respite hours, or by FMS.

Participant’s needing to stay past 3pm need to notify Ivey’s ADP staff to register for after-care hours.

Medication Permission:

A medication permission slip must be completed by a licensed physician and submitted with each medication.

The adult day program is intended to provide a variety of services including functional skills training, vocational exposure and development, and leisure activities. Across the various services, a fundamental purpose is to enhance independent functioning among the adult consumer. Progression within the program will be determined on an individual basis and will be assessed annually.
